Fill the Freezer: Dinner's in the Bag!
If making this meal for dinner tonight, go ahead and assemble the same ingredients to make a meal for the freezer and make this stew faster and easier in the future. Place all of the ingredients (except the frozen green beans) in a gallon sized freezer.  Seal the bag, being sure to press out all of the extra air so it will lie flat when stored.  Along with marking the bag with the recipe name and date, make a note that you need to add a 16 oz bag of frozen green beans at time of preparation (or not...if you don't have them in the future, the stew will be just as good! can add a can or 2 of drained green beans in the last 30 minutes of slow cooking time)

Get the Kids Cooking:
Making frozen meals in a bag is a great time to get the kids involved.  They can fill bags, squish bags or even label bags if old enough.  Line up the supplies and let them help!
