2/3 cup Basic White Sauce Blend
2 tablespoons butter
(3 ingredients above may be replace with one Basic White Sauce recipe already prepared)
2 ½ cups water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (may add more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard (optional)
- (if using a pre-made batch of basic white sauce, place it in a large skillet and gently warm for step 1) In a large nonstick skillet, over medium heat, add butter, sauce mix and gradually whisk in the water. Whisk constantly until sauce is thick and bubbly
- Remove the skillet from the heat source and add cheese and dry mustard. Stir until well blended. If cheese does not melt easily, put skillet back over a low heat source temporarily.
- Serve warm.
