Cheddar Sauce

2/3 cup Basic White Sauce Blend
2 tablespoons butter
(3 ingredients above may be replace with one Basic White Sauce recipe already prepared)
2 ½ cups water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (may add more to taste)
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard (optional)

  1. (if using a pre-made batch of basic white sauce, place it in a large skillet and gently warm for step 1) In a large nonstick skillet, over medium heat, add butter, sauce mix and gradually whisk in the water.  Whisk constantly until sauce is thick and bubbly 
  2. Remove the skillet from the heat source and add cheese and dry mustard.  Stir until well blended.  If cheese does not melt easily, put skillet back over a low heat source temporarily. 
  3. Serve warm. 
  • SIDE DISH ~Use as a sauce over noodles or vegetables 
  • ENTREE ~ Add precooked ground beef and pour over noodles
