1 pound Italian pork sausage
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cups dry Rotini Pasta
3 1/2 cups water
3 cups Quick and Easy Spaghetti Sauce, prepared (recipe here)
1 cup chopped red bell peppers
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
- In a large skillet over medium high heat, brown and crumble the Italian Sausage (like you would with ground beef). When sausage is no longer pink, drain and add the chopped onions and cook until tender.
- To the large skillet, add the pasta, water and prepared spaghetti sauce. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 15 minutes or until the pasta is tender. Stir occasionally to keep from sticking.
- Add bell peppers and optional mushrooms and cook, uncovered, for another 5 minutes.
- Top the finished dish with the shredded cheese and serve warm.
