Seasoned Wonton Crisps

This recipe is a great way to replace bagged chips with something a little more healthy.  They are easy to prepare and can be made in a variety of flavors.  Pick your favorite and stock up!

First fill a baking sheet with individual wonton wrappers and
give them a spray of a butter flavored baking spray...
Now sprinkle with any of your favorite seasoning blends.
See a list below of recommended blends,
or try a favorite seasoning you have in your pantry.

Once seasoned, take a pizza cutter and cut in half to create triangles...
Throw these into the oven and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes, or till golden and crisp! (see picture at top of post).

These keep for weeks at a time, so make a bunch and store them in an air tight container.

Here are some of my favorite flavor options for my wonton crisps:

  • Basil and Garlic Seasoning Blend
  • Kansas Style Dry Rub Blend (bbq chip flavored)
  • Lemon Pepper with Garlic Seasoning Blend
  • Southwestern Style Seasoning Blend

Or just salt and pepper them for simple chip flavor!

If you are trying to break the bagged chip habit with your kids, let them help you make these baked crisps with you.  Letting them help encourages them to like things more than if we just put them in front of them and say 'eat'.  Try a taste testing batch!  Set out a variety of seasoning blends you want to try and sprinkle a little of each seasoning on just a few wontons at a time.  After they are baked, sample and see who likes what the best.  Now it's time to fill up the oven with a full batch of the family favorite!
