Baked beans are a great side dish to summer time entrees, but heating up the kitchen with a hot oven is not a favorite.  Try this slow cooker version, keep it cool and enjoy!

3 tablespoons My Favorite Roast Seasoning Blend
2  8-ounce cans lima beans, drained
1  15-ounce can northern beans, drained
1  15-ounce can light red kidney beans, drained
1  15-ounce can black eyed peas, drained
1  28-ounce can baked beans (lowest sodium you can find), undrained
1/4 cup bacon pieces, raw
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup packed brown sugar

  1. Pour all ingredients into slow cooker and stir until well blended.
  2. Cook on high for 1 hour or on low for 2 hours.
This makes a large amount but no need to wait for a party to serve it.  Make it as a side dish for dinner tonight and refrigerate what is left.  A few days later, add some precooked meat of choice (shredded chicken, ground beef, shredded roast, etc...), reheat and serve with a batch of cornbread.
