One of my favorite things to do is create what I call Meal Trails.  This is a trail of meals that connect with the Cook Once / Serve Twice concept.  It makes meal planning budget friendly by using all of the food I already have in the house and it saves me time in the kitchen, eliminating extra preparation steps throughout the week.

I keep a collection of these meal trailing ideas over here....{click!},
but to help introduce readers to the concept a 'bite' at a time, I'll feature a couple of trails every Tuesday.

This week I'm featuring a string of meals
 you can trail together using

The TRAIL OF MEAL IDEAS looks like this:

Meal #1
Slow Cooked Roast
(make at least 1 1/2 pounds more roast
than you will need for dinner tonight
so you have plenty ready to make meal 2 later in the week)
Meal #2

Meal #1
(add 3 or so extra breasts to the slow cooker
so you are ready to make meal #2 later in the week)
Meal #2

Meal #1
Best Burgers EVER
( double the recipe and cook 8 extra patties
to use in meal #2 )
Meal #2
Hamburger patties with Mushroom Cream Gravy
(serve with Instantly Delicious Mash Potatoes that also go well with the gravy)

Meal #1
Roast with Cream Gravy
( Get a roast that is at least 1 pound larger than you need.
When done cooking, remove the 'extra' from the serving plate before setting out.
This way you are sure to have some left to use for meal #2.
The easiest way to judge how much to take out is to shred enough to fill a 2 cup measure abundantly. )
Meal #2
Pot Pie
(Instead of chicken, use the extra shredded roast and instead of cream of chicken, use cream of mushroom.  Follow all other directions as listed.)

Meal #1
Pork Tenderloin in Mushroom Sauce
(double the recipe and save that portion to use in meal #2)
Meal #2
Sloppy Pork Sandwiches
