Sweetly Spiced Dip

This simple recipe for a blend of brown sugar and spices was a HUGE hit with the customers of my previous product line.   Over the years it became a standard ingredient in a variety of popular recipes.  From desserts, to dips and even some entrees, this is a dip mix you will want to consider keeping on hand using the 'bulk blend' option I share below.  For now though, just enjoy this great dip recipe to take your cakes and cookies to a new level of YUM!

1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
{combine the above ingredients and store in a sealed container / bag to use as individual dip mixes, following the recipe below}

8 oz container of whipped topping
8 oz of yogurt (plain or vanilla)
1/2-1 cup of whipped butter (or margarine)


  1. Combine the dry ingredients with your choice of either the whipped topping or the yogurt.  Stir to blend and refrigerate for at least an hour or up to 1 week.  
  2. Serve cold as a dip for any of the following options:
    • Fresh Fruit
    • Cookies...sugar, molasses, any cookie that would be great with a little taste of cinnamon and cloves!
    • Cake Squares...take any plain cake and cut it into bite sized squares.  Serve with the dip and skip the need to ice the cake!  (pound cake, angel food cake, white cake, chocolate cake, etc...)
Combine it with the butter listed to make a wonderful spread to put on toast, biscuits, muffins, banana bread, pumpkin bread, strawberry bread....uhhh, need I keep writing?!  Spiced butter on anything, right!

Tami's Tip:
I keep a jar of the dry ingredient blend in my pantry at all times.  A pint sized jar will hold 4x the dry ingredients listed for the single recipe.  I use this blend in a variety of recipes that can be found (or will soon be found) on this blog.  Use the category list to find 'spice dip blend' recipes and click!
