Bacon Cheddar and Jalapeno Dip

This dip recipe was in the top 5 sellers list when I ran my food manufacturing company. {story here}So I'm thrilled to be able to share it here as a mix you can make at home and keep on hand...or use as a gift!  It requires one product you can't find in the grocery store (jalapeno powder), but I share an online resource for  getting it in the post below.  Enjoy!

3 tablespoons bacon bits
1 tablespoon dried parsley
1 teaspoon jalapeno powder (see resource below)
{all of the ingredients above can be stored in a sealed container as a dip mix to be used as desired}
1 cup sour cream
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup shredded cheddar

  1. Combine all of the ingredients, stir to blend and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 5 days)
  2. Serve chilled with chips.  It's especially good with corn chips or tortilla chips.

in this recipe using this brand may not be accurate for another brand.  Jalapeno
powder can be potent if used in wrong portions!

Tami's Tip:
ADJUST THE HEAT TO TASTE... The portion called for in this recipe is just right for this Texas family.  If you are heat sensitive, start with a little less jalapeno powder and then add more after tasting.  

Gifting Idea:
Make an assortment of dip mixes using recipes from this blog (see all dip recipes here).  Just bag the dry ingredients with a recipe to make the actual dip and put them all in a dip/chip bowl or dish as part of the gift. Add a bag of gourmet dipping chips if desired
