About

Back in 1997,
before I began this blog,
I started a company
around my kitchen table
and called it
Homemade Gourmet .

It was a way to provide extra income while staying home to raise and homeschool my 4 children, who were ages 9, 7, 4 and 2 at that time.

In His perfect wisdom, God started me down this path with a simple idea to hand make mixes of my favorite family recipes and sell them, sharing with customers how to use the recipes to get dinner on the table fast and easy (and within budget!). Over the years it grew into a nationally known brand with a mission to Bring Families Back to the Dinner Table.

Today Homemade Gourmet carries on without me, operating under the ownership of an investment group that acquired the company in 2007.  They eventually took the company in a direction that did not require me to stay employed by them, but I still have a passion for food, family and fun!

Since then, I've developed this blog with that same 'around the table' concept and use it as a place to post what's cooking at my home, share ideas for meal planning or pass along menu suggestions you might enjoy at your home, around your table.

Most of the recipes featured use the seasoning and baking blends I created and packaged so many years ago.  Since I no longer package them, I have put them into a series of Ecookbooks that you can purchase here {click to 'the store'} Or click here to read more about the blends.

One of my favorite aspects of blogging is the community it creates.  For this reason, I love it when readers leave comments about what's cooking in their kitchen, or just to say hello! So don't be shy and be sure to join in the table talk!

I am so glad you have come to my table today and hope you will pull up a chair often.  One way to stay connected is to join my email list and get notifications when new recipes are posted.

I LOVE hearing from you, so don't forget to leave a comment (you can even do it anonymously if you like!)

God Bless and Keep You,
Tami
